Taylor Swift takes charge on the cover of the August issue of Glamour magazine.
Here’s a snippet of the interview
On maintaining who she is, famous or not: I’ve never felt like I needed to tone down being seen as a regular person. When I first started doing MySpace, I wrote by bio in the first person. I didn’t want [it] to look like a publicity promo site, so I was the one doing all the commenting, and I was the one putting up the pictures and videos. I’ve approached my whole career like that-I don’t see that ever changing.
On using her real life to inspire her songs: For me, rebelling is done with words: I love to write honest songs that name real people, then get up onstage and live out those emotions in front of of 15,000 people. Penciling in a night to get wasted is not something I want to do.
On the logisitics of having a boyfriend: It’s always going to be long-distance, even if I date the boy who lives next door to me in Nashville. I’ll be flying to see him and flying him places to see me. It feels like it would involve more scheduling, and I already deal with a lot of scheduling in my life. Of course, if I met somebody who was worth it, I would probably stop thinking that way!

Shania Twain took to her blog to explain where she is write now, both emotionally and in her career. Read the entire letter here! (it's long...)
Dear Friends,
I am so excited to be writing to you personally again after so long.
First I want to apologize for the delay in releasing new music. Music is the basis of our relationship, after all, and I realize I’m not holding up very well on my end of the relationship! But music has a mind of it’s own, and is ruled by a writer’s emotions and state of mind, not by a time frame or wishful thinking. I wish like crazy that I had new music by now since I dream of how fun it would be to see you all again out on tour with new songs to sing, but as most of you know, I have been side-tracked slightly over this past year.
The personal issues that took place just over a year ago have been well documented, and there’s no need to go into more detail here. Since then, I’ve been inspired by my pain to write and use writing as a therapy through the suffering. I truly wouldn’t wish this on anybody as a means to get inspired, but it’s been a productive period with so much emotion trying to find it’s way out. However, there is no telling how long it will take me to actually finish these songs and record them so they can get out to you.
As many things as there have been to write about through this difficult time in my life, healing is serious business and has taken a lot of the wind out of my sails, slowing me down at times. As you know, I am a mom and all my energy goes to making sure my little man is healthy and happy in every way. This is a full time job, as any parent understands, but especially difficult when you are battling your own personal crisis at the same time while trying to spare your child of being affected by your own suffering.
One time when I was having a weak moment listening to some sad music and sobbing and slobbering over my computer’s keyboard, Eja walked up behind me and asked me why I was crying. He wasn’t sad at first—just totally surprised to see his mom crying (he is seven and never saw me cry before), and didn’t know what to make of it. During this intense period, I was managing to hide my devastation from Eja and cried only when I was alone; but this one time was just too hard for me to control and I broke down. I was quick on my feet to answer him though and told Eja that music was very powerful and can make people quite emotional. It can make you want to dance, feel angry, happy or sad and that THIS this song was sad and made me cry. He accepted this, hugged me and went back to what he was doing. Phew, that was tough!
The energy it has taken me to deal with my personal life and managing to still be a responsible parent has been challenging, and while I have been putting what energy I have left at the end of each day into my writing, it’s been hard to put it all together into song format.
Please be patient and I will do my best to continue working on a finished album!
Each morning I put my son on the school bus, feed our two dogs Sony and Dolly, drink my orange juice and sit down at the computer to write. I spend most of my time working with lyrics right now, sorting thoughts, expressions and concepts. It often comes out in the form of poetry, diary notes or e-mails to friends. My friends are great listeners and are very patient and generous about it. I often go back to my e-mails for song ideas. When I write in letter form, I don’t hold back. I just write it as it comes without considering format, topic, manners, etc. Some of my best songwriting ideas are coming this way.
Time has a way of making everything right, and it is my hope that good music will eventually come out of it. I say “good music” since I don’t want to just throw anything at you, just for the sake of hurrying up to get it out. I want my new music to be something I’m personally satisfied with and proud to share with you.
I have friends and family around constantly coaxing me to focus on my music. “Your fans miss you. They want new music. It’s been too long.” They’re all dying for something new too, so they are pretty relentless about it! I know you certainly all do deserve new music and tour dates; not only because it’s been so long, but also because of the HUGE support you’ve all given me during this period. The many blogs and e-mails have warmed my heart, strengthened my confidence, given me courage, and have often even made me laugh out loud…in a good way! I know I am not alone and realize through your support that you are all rooting for Eja and I, and our well-being. Thank you!
The other day I started writing a few pages about being hungry as a kid. Some of it was painful to think about but it also made me laugh at the funny times. Reflecting on that period of my life, I realize how true it really is to learn to take the good with the bad. To appreciate that you can’t have one without the other. The trick is to give the “good” at least as much of your energy as the “bad” and not to get stuck focusing more on the “bad”. I decided to start writing about other stages of my life to help take my focus off the current phase I’m going through. When I’m feeling down, I figured changing my focus to write about other periods of my PAST would help pull me out of the sadness and on to new chapters in my life. It works.
I will sign off now but I look forward to my next letter/blog to you. I just wanted to fill you in a bit on what’s going on with me and music, as well as extend my thanks for all of the support that you have given me over this last year and for all these years; and to assure you that I’m fine and managing very well, in fact. I’m enjoying my child, friends and family like I haven’t in years, and it’s great. I’ve been experiencing and seeing new things every day, living life with a different and more optimistic attitude. I’ve jumped out of an airplane at 10,000 feet, I’m riding Spanish and Arabian horses, traveling to exotic places, I’ve been deep sea diving for the first time! I pull the odd all-nighter, read more books, listen to Eja’s favourite music with him, LOUD [ironically his favourite band is AC/DC] and basically I’m enjoying life.
Till next time, my friends. Be well, and peace and happiness to all of you.
Love,
Shania

Julianne Hough has auditioned for the lead female role in the upcoming remake of Footloose. According to Entertainment Weekly magazine, she’s got a really great shot at snagging the role! If she gets it, she’ll have beaten out stars like Hayden Panettiere and Amanda Bynes. Carrie Underwood’s “Ex” Chace Crawford got the lead male role after Zac Efron bowed out earlier this spring.

Here’s the cover for Brad Paisley’s new album, American Saturday Night. What do you think of the cover? It's different, I'll give him that.
Of the new album and it’s title track, Paisley recently told Billboard “‘American Saturday Night’ is a song about what happens on a weekend in our country, under the guise of the melting pot and how really nothing is original here. We are all of some heritage, other than those who are Native American, and it seems like it’s all sort of washed up here on these shores as a best-of collection of what the world has to offer.”
American Saturday Night will be released on June 30.
The popular video game, Rock Band, is going country! The Rock Band Track Pack will be available for purchase for $29.99 starting July 21st and will feature 21 tracks from some of country music’s hottest acts

We’re very excited to be able to offer this set, featuring some of the greatest songs ever recorded.”

OR MAYBE it was when he scored the game winning goal a couple of nights ago and she jumped to her feet and shouted “That’s My Boy”!!! Check out the video here
If you're a real fan, you're already hyperventilating from the headline.
You ... in the Twilight saga: New Moon? Rubbing shoulders with the cast,
hanging out in Forks, drooling over your favorite vampire (or wolf).
Too good to be true? Nope. But there is a small catch.
All you have to do is record and submit a video to the Official Twilight Movie website (http://www.twilightthemovie.com), explaining why you, above all other Twilight fans, should make an appearance in the movie.
Then, fill out an entry form and submit your video by March 20th
Here's Carrie Underwood, age 14, in 1997 singing in a state fair talent contest. Amazing!
Ever since her suprise appearance at last year's CMA Awards, I've been waiting for Shania Twain's comeback!
(There’s a lot of talk about Shania making a comeback this year, but it’s all been radio rumors).
Anyway, Shania graces the cover of the March 30th issue of First Magazine. She’s looking great like always! Thanks to CMIL for finding this!
Rascal Flatts has released their new video for "Here Comes Goodbye". Check it out! What do you think?
Carrie Underwood posed for famed photographer Annie Leibovitz (she snapped the Miley Cyrus pics with only the draped sheet).
The photos were in celebration of Badgley Mischka’s 20th anniversary (I’m not really sure what Badgley Mischka is…is it clothes? Jewelry? Fast food?). Carrie poses with Eva Longoria, Brooke Shields, Lauren Hutton, and Angelica Huston.

Keith Urban fans who thought the announcement of the release of his new album was thrilling enough will now have even more to get excited about.
Urban is offering advance-purchase tracks from ‘Defying Gravity’ in a “Complete My Album” promotion on iTunes. And those who take part in the program will be treated to a bonus—the previously unreleased tune, ‘Call My Name.’
It’s the first time in iTunes’ “Complete My Album” campaign history that fans who buy at least one advance track and complete the purchase of an entire album within two weeks of its release will receive an additional song.
‘Defying Gravity,’ Urban’s sixth studio album, is set for release March 31, and the “Complete My Album” campaign began March 3 with Urban’s current—and ninth No. 1—single, ‘Sweet Thing.’ On March 10, the second song ‘Kiss a Girl’ will be available, followed on March 17 by ‘I’m In,’ and ‘Only You Can Love Me This Way,’ on March 24. A full 99 cent credit toward the purchase of the entire album on March 31 will be offered for each of those songs purchased in advance.
In addition, Urban will offer a video podcast about the program and about each song he’s releasing at iTunes before ‘Defying Gravity’ hits stores.

The NBA announced today that Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan has been named Western Conference Coach of the Month for games played in February.
Sloan led Utah to an NBA-best 10-1 (.750) record in February, which also marks the best February in franchise history. The 10-1 mark equals the fewest losses ever for the Jazz in a month the team has played multiple games. The Jazz went 14-1 in both January 1995 and March 1997, and also went 10-1 in April 1997.
Five of Utah’s 10 wins came against teams which currently would qualify for the playoffs, including wins over two of the top three teams in the NBA in the Los Angeles Lakers (2/11) and Boston Celtics (2/19). The Jazz also defeated New Orleans (2/21), Dallas (2/5) and Atlanta (2/23). Utah shot .499 from the field while averaging 107.2 points per game during February, this despite missing forward Andrei Kirilenko for the first five games of the month and Carlos Boozer for the first eight.
This is the 10th Coach of the Month award for Sloan, who last won for March 2008, and the 12th award for a Jazz head coach (Frank Layden won twice).
Deron Williams was a nominee for Western Conference Player of the Month for February, which was awarded to the Lakers’ Pau Gasol. Now in his 21st season as Jazz head coach, earlier this season Sloan became the first NBA head coach to achieve 1,000 wins with one team when the Jazz defeated Oklahoma City on November 7. The fourth-winningest coach in NBA history, Sloan holds a career coaching record of 1,126-740, with a franchise-best record of 1032-619 with the Jazz.
Other nominees for February’s Western Conference Coach of the Month award were Houston’s Rick Adelman and Lakers’ Phil Jackson. Cleveland’s Mike Brown was named the Eastern Conference winner for February.
Jazz guard Deron Williams was a nominee for Western Conference Player of the Month for February, which was awarded to the Lakers’ Pau Gasol.
Last night before Rascal Flatts took the stage, Jessica Simpson belted out "Come on Over". Simpson did a sexy sashay partway through the performance, proving that she was comfortable in her skin regardless of the whispers. Earlier in the month, during a show in Michigan, Simpson had forgotten the lyrics to the song. Seems like Simpson is currently back on track- looking healthy and confident on stage

Larry Miller passes away
SALT LAKE CITY (February 20, 2009) -Larry H. Miller, husband, father, grandfather, a well-known entrepreneur, community advocate and humanitarian, died from complications due to type 2 diabetes today, at home, surrounded by his family. He was 64.
Miller, a man who truly loved Utah, its people and its land, was born in Salt Lake City in 1944. From modest beginnings, he grew up in the Capitol Hill area and went on to become one of Utah’s most successful entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Leaving behind a profound professional and personal legacy, the entities Miller created have had a significant and lasting impact on the communities in which he did business, and the more than 7,000 individuals he employed.
The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies began with the Larry H. Miller Toyota store in Murray, Utah on May 1, 1979. Through the years, Miller amassed more than 80 businesses and properties in the western United States. Most notable are the Utah Jazz, EnergySolutions Arena, the Salt Lake Bees, Miller Motorsports Park, Megaplex Theatres, and 39 automobile dealerships spanning the Rocky Mountain West. Miller also developed a vast real estate holdings including commercial and agricultural properties.
A dynamic entrepreneur and business leader, Miller also became known for his charitable efforts. Miller coined the phrase “Go about doing good until there is too much good in the world.”
Miller and his wife Gail provide close to 300 college scholarships each year. Larry H. Miller Charities, a foundation funded by monthly contributions from his businesses, fundraising events in the community, and personal donations from employees, has donated millions of dollars to communities in which Miller does business.
“Larry and Gail have always stressed the importance of giving back to the communities in which we do business. Our customers have supported us and it is important that we show our appreciation by helping those in need,” said Greg Miller, eldest son and CEO of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. “Larry felt that his legacy isn’t in business as much as it was in creating opportunities for good jobs and higher education.”
Larry and Gail have also donated millions of dollars to Utah-based colleges and universities for campus improvements such as the state-of-the-art softball and baseball complexes at BYU. The Larry H. Miller Campus of the Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), was completed in fall 2001 and includes the Larry H. Miller Entrepreneurship Training Center and The Larry and Gail Miller Public Safety Education & Training Center.
Despite all of his success, Miller always maintained that his greatest accomplishment is the family that survives him: his wife, Karen Gail Saxton Miller, their four sons and one daughter, 21 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
A press conference for the media will be held at 8 p.m. in the press room at the Zions Bank Basketball Center, 1414 South 500 West, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101
Plans for a memorial service will be announced shortly.

Well, it's all beginning to wind down I think.
We started the night at the Native American Party at the New Frontier Lounge. Benjamin Bratt was there, making him the most seen celebrity of this festival. I’m telling you- he has been at EVERY party I’ve been to! He’s probably stalking my co-host…
We then spent the evening at the “Locals Take Back Party” at Sidecar. This party was free to anyone with a Utah I.D. and it was packed! There were only local bands playing and local DJs spinning. It was Park City’s answer to all of the cool parties that come to Sundance and then don’t let anyone in. And it was fun!!
I did see Billy Bob Thorton walking up Main Street by himself. He had a coffee in hand and seemed to be on a mission. Not really sure where he was off to…
The big talk last night was about the fight between Jeff Dowd and John Anderson. Do you remember the film, “The Big Lebowski”? Well, the main character in the film (The Dude) is based on Jeff Dowd. He is at the festival representing the movie “The Dirt”. John Anderson is a film critic for Variety. It seems that John was not a fan of the movie and Jeff would not leave John alone. He followed him around, pestering him about why John had a problem with “The Dirt”. Well, John couldn’t take it any longer, and puched Jeff twice in the face!!! That’s Sundance for ya…
Tonight is a party for the Tromadance Film Festival at Sidecar. This film festival is free to enter and truly celebrates the independant filmmaker. If you’re interested, it’s a $10 donation at the door. Learn more about the festival at http://www.tromadance.com!
Pictures are coming!!!
Now last night was a party!
We made it over to the “Motherhood” party at St. Ives. “Motherhood” is a film that is being showcased at Sundance and it stars Uma Thurman. So, this was the World Premiere Party. Although most of the nightlife is done in clubs, this was in a small house at the bottom of Main Street. There was a red carpet leading up to the door with catering and people jammed into every room. The film ended at about 11:30pm, so this thing didn’t even get kickin’ until past midnight.
This entire party was for Uma Thurman’s movie- you’d think she’d be sociable. Not at all!!! Uma did not stop for one picture or interview on the red carpet, walked through the house, and disapeared into a room for the rest of the night. Her publicist said that she was “too tired”. Getting only a quick glimpse of her, I found Uma to be beautiful but not as tall as you’d think (saddly, still taller than me).
Mini Driver, Jodi Foster, Benjamin Bratt, Chris Kattan, Kevin Spacey, Jason Ritter and James Gandolfini were also there. Chris Kattan (former SNL star, “Night at the Roxburry”) may be going through a divorce, but he didn’t seem to be affected by it. Neither did his model/date on his arm. Kevin Spacey pulled an Uma and hid from the party for the night. Jodi Foster was kind and relaxed and seemed to be having a great time. Having just interviewed Jason Ritter it was nice to see that he remembered me (they usually don’t). He’s the type of person you’d like to see succeed in this industry. Mini Driver was equally nice and spent the night bouncing around from group to group, she even ended up on stage singing by 1:00am!
All in all, a very surreal night, which started too late and ended too early.
In Sundance news, IFC bought “Dead Snow”, a horror comedy and “The Killing Room”. It’s been an odd year in regards to movie deals. No movie has sold for over $4 million, which is a shocker. And Miramax still hasn’t picked up a thing. Strange…
Oh- one final note. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of interviewing Michael Shannon from “Missing Person”. Today, Michael was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, with the Academy Awards, for his part in “Revolutionary Road”. Could it be the Watkins’ bump?! ![]()

I'll be honest, I know that tonight is going to be a late and crazy night, so we took it easy last night.
We started off at The Sidecar for their Innauguration Ball Celebration. The place was packed! I heard that all of the celebs were on Main Street, watching Obama take the oath. By the time I arrived, the only power couple I was able to meet was David Duchovny and Tea Leoni. I LOVE Tea Leoni! She’s been a favorite of mine since “The Naked Truth” and it was nice to know that she is just as persoanable and beautiful in person.
We left The Sidecar and hit up Tao at the Sundance Lift for a few minutes. However, it was just too busy and too loud (I’m getting old). So, we caught a quick film to end the night.
“Black Dynamite” is hilarious. It’s already been picked up by Sony for $2 million and the entire cast has signed on for a sequel. The buzz is that Sony hopes to turn this into another Austin Powers franchise. Will it work? Possibly. The movie is about how “The Man” attacks the good folks of the ghetto and how Black Dynamite goes to Honky House and fights for justice. Intrigued?
Other films that have been picked up are “Education” and “Adam” (which I interviewed Peter Gallagher for a few days ago). The amazing thing is that Focus, Miramax and The Weinstein Company all have failed to buy any pictures yet. This is odd and the producers are beginning to get nervous. Not only do you come to Sundance for the SWAG, you come to sell your picture!!!
There’s a huge party tonight at a mansion up in Park City. Rumor is that this is place to be. There’s even a fashion show happening at 2am. So, I’m going for it! Hopefully, I’ll have some stories tomorrow…
First off, I forgot my camera chord today to upload pictures. They are coming!!!
Yesterday, we spent the evening at John Paul Dejoria’s party. If you’re not familiar with the name- he is one half of the “Paul Mitchell” brand and owner of Patron Tequilla. The drinks were free and Billy Bob Thorton’s band rocked. Needless to say, I did not want to leave.
We then tried to get into Harrios for a special concert. Dave Nvarro and Mark McGrath’s new band were taking the stage, but we were denied at the door! There’s nothing worse than walking up to a doorman, giving your name, and being sent on your way. Awkward! So, I went home to get some sleep.
Other Sundance gossip…Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey are in town. Jim has a film called “I Love You Philip Morris” and will be at The Queer Lounge tonight. Paris Hilton was at Tao, but we never made it over there. A friend of mine has her in the background though of all of her photos. I’ll try to post some! Anna Wintour (editor of Vogue) did show up for the Park City screening of “The September Issue”. She had bailed on the Salt Lake City premiere, but did do a scripted Q&A after the movie in PC. Rumor is that she flew coach to get to the festival (that’d be a first!).
“Tyson” and “Black Dynamite” were both bought by Sony, but the films are not selling as quickly as they have in years past. Hopefully it speeds up! I’m gonna try to catch a flick tonight- possibly “I Knew it Was You” or “Weather Girl”.
If you have photos or stories from Sundance, send them to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)!
It was not a late night on Sunday!
After a hard two days of Sundance parties, it was nice to find a more relaxing pace on Sunday. St. Regis threw a NFL Playoff party, attended by Jazz players, Tom Arnold and even John Salley. Although it was still a swanky affair (that’s St.Regis for ya’), the food was your normal tailgating affair. Which I was happy about- I can’t watch the game without my chicken wings!
I had the pleasure of interviewing Peter Gallagher today. He couldn’t have been a greater guy. He plays the father in a movie called “Adam”. It was interesting, because Peter first arrived on the Sundance scene 20 years ago for his part in “Sex, Lies and Videotapes”. He still recalls Steven Soderbergh (Director of Oceans 11 and more) being so nervous as he stood up introducing the film to the critics.
The stars are now all on their way to Obama’s Innauguration, which means now is the time movies are bought and sold. This is the part of the week where Park City holds very important business lunches that could change the lives of filmmakers. “Paper Heart” and “America” are two films that are expected to be bought before the day is up.
Thank you to everyone who sent in photos from Sundance over the weekend. I will be posting them here on my blog. If you have pics, send them to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
Paril Hilton drama, Mariah Carey and more!
Sundance is now in full swing!
Friday night, we went to the Rock Band club to watch Nick Cannon spin the tunes (it was weird, every other song he played was Mariah Carey…). Mariah did show up as we were leaving and the amount of paparazzi around her forced us to use another door to exit!
I caught the Press screening of “The September Issue”. This is a documentary about Anna Wintour and Vogue. If you saw “The Devil Wears Prada”, you have to see this film!!! Meryl Streep claims that her character is based on Anna, and it sure seems to be. I wish my wife could have made this screening, because it is heavy in fashion and I think anyone who is in to “the hip thing to wear”, will love this movie.
Saturday morning was jammed pack full of interviews, including one with John Krasinski from “The Office”. He’s making his directorial debut with “Brief Interviews with Hideous Men”.
Also on Saturday, the Richard Gere/ Don Cheadle movie, “Brooklyn’s Finest” premiered. It was the director’s rough cut and the mixture at the end was a cross between cheers and hissing. Even with the lukewarm reception, the film has been bought by a distributor, so we’ll see it in a theatre soon! One catch- if you see this movie at Sundance, they are re-shooting a lot of it, now that it’s been bought, meaning you will see a version that the no one else will see!
The parties were typical Sundance style; St.Regis was a swanky affair, The Queer Lounge had a karaoke contest, the Kenneth Cole Black party was packed and Myspace cafe was a nice place to grab some French Fries. We spent a few minutes chatting with Kenneth Cole. He was a very nice guy who just wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time. He even gave us a SWAG bag! However, we accidently left it at the next party (sorry Kenneth). At Myspace Cafe we ran into Selena Gomez. My wife commented on how great her skin was!
The big rumor at the festival is about Paris Hilton. ALEGEDLY she was caught smoking some illegal stuff in the halls of her hotel and was fined $1000 for it. I saw her last night walking up Main Street with her entourage, so it didn’t seem to put a damper on her evening.
I also shared a restroom with Kevin Bacon. No good story- just a fact.
I have a lot of pictures to come!!! If you have any from Sundance, send them to me at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
Once again Keith Urban has an awesome hit, and check out this great video on myspace.com. (Ladies you for sure won't want to miss this).
Sundance is in full swing!
The stars are arriving, the films have begun and the parties are crowded.
Last night, “Mary and Max” opened the festival at the Eccles Theatre. Robert Redford spoke beforehand saying, “The best thing about life, is we don’t know what’s coming”. That’s why I love Sundance! You never know what might happen to any filmmaker or actor by the end of this festival. Although I had doubts about the film- it being claymation and with a plot line that sounded SLOW, it was beautiful. Who knew that you could invest emotion in a clay figurine? How dare I challenge the great minds who pick these films…
Of course, part of Sundance is the after parties. And party I did! The Sundance Opening Night Celebration took place at Legacy, at PC Mtn Resort. By the time we left, there were 200 people out in line trying to get in. It was crazy. The stars weren’t out yet. Last night was more for the Board Members of Sundance and the town of Park City. The big parties start tonight.
Also, the Salt Lake City Gala is tonight at the Rose Wagner Theatre. It’s first film is called “The September Issue”, a documentary about Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
Myself? I’ll be at The Ed Hardy Fashion show. Tomorrow, I’m hitting up a screening of “Humpday” and “No Impact Man”. Plus interviewing Jeff Daniels, Sam Rockwell and more.
I’ll keep you posted!
If you have any pics or stories from this years Sundance, send them in! (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
I've been asked to help out with The Sundance Channel and Park City Television to conduct interviews during this year's Sundance Film Festival!
Well, today’s the day it all starts.
Park City is already busy and “No Parking” signs are everywhere. The Media tent is crowded with journalists who flew in last night and are cold and tired from the early wakeup call. Most crowd around the muffin tray and fight over who’s next for coffee. Ah, the glamour of Hollywood.
Most of the parties and activities will begin this weekend, but today is Opening Night and it’s SOLD OUT! “Mary and Max” will be the first film of the festival. It’s a claymation animation about a lonely 8 year old girl who befriends a 44 year old obese man who battles with Asperger’s syndrome (when I heard an animated film was opening the festival- I was hoping for Shrek 4!). Philip Seymour Hoffman and Toni Collette provide the voices.
Robert Redford will open the 6:00 premiere and then a Q&A will follow. Tonight’s opening gala will be at Legacy in Park City. I’ll let you know how iti s tomorrow!
If you’re up at Sundance, send me pics of you and celebs, reviews of movies or anything else that you think is cool. I’ll post it on my blog! My email is (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
Have you ever thought about becoming a model?
I did, but then realized that being short and hairy really didn’t sell clothes. Maybe you can do better!
If you’re over 21 and interested, we have partnered with Xpose Photography to help build your portfolio.
There are open casting calls going on this week in Salt Lake City. All of the details are under our Events section. Check it out!
And if you do get a job and they need someone to play a hobit- let me know!
