Pioneer Days Guide to Fun!

The 24th of July is Utah’s very own holiday celebrating the first Pioneers to enter and settle our great state back in 1847! To continue this celebration, we light up the sky with fireworks and put together TONS of fun events and activities for the whole family! Celebrate this year with these awesome upcoming events!

*July 18 at 7:00 am- First Encampment Hike- Join fellow participants in a 5 mile hike to commemorate the Pioneers travel into the Utah Valley! Bring the whole family for a fun and historical hike from Donner Park at 2770 East and 990 South in Salt Lake City, UT, just East of Hogle Zoo! The hike will end at 1604 South 500 East where a pioneer breakfast will be served for only $3 a plate! *July 18 at 10:00 am- Youth Parade- The fun filled Youth Parade starts at 600 East and 500 South in Downtown SLC and runs west on 500 South to 200 East until it ends at 200 East and 500 South. The parade is fun for the whole family, but the kids will have a blast! There will be activities after the parade and one float will be picked by judges to be in the BIG Parade on July 24th! *July 21-25 at EnergySolutions Arena- Days of ’47 Rodeo- The best part of Pioneer Days is the Days of ’47 Rodeo! Buckin’ Broncos, Bull Rindin’ and a fun time for the whole family! *July 23-24 in West Valley- Utah Pioneer Days Production- Check out the Youth Pioneer Production in West Valley! With FREE ADMISSION you will get pre-show entertainment, the Youth Pioneer Production with over 150 child stars, and a firework spectacular show after the performance! July 24 at 9:00 am- Days of ’47 Parade- The BIG parade kicks of in Downtown Salt Lake City at 9:00! Floats, horses, fun, and of course the float winner from the Youth Parade! Bring the whole family down for some great celebration fun! This year you can even start early and camp out the night before on the streets of the parade route! Bring plenty of snacks, water and don’t forget your sleeping bags! FIREWORK SHOWS! 

July 23rd:

Bountiful will have fireworks a day early in part of Handcart Days. The show will start at 9:45 p.m. at Mueller Park Jr. High on 955 E. 1800 South.

July 24th:

*The Real Salt Lake will have fireworks following the game at Rio Tinto Stadium. The game starts at 8 p.m.

*Salt Lake City will have fireworks at Liberty Park beginning at 10 p.m. The show will follow the park’s Native American Celebration.

*Beginning at 7 p.m. on the rooftop of Whole Foods, Trolley Square is holding a free event. Here you will get a chance to watch firework displays across the valley with food, free valet parking, activities for the whole family and of course, music.

*Ogden Pioneer Days will have a fireworks show after the rodeo at the Pioneer Stadium Rodeo Grounds, 668 17th St.

*Salt Lake Bee’s Game will have fireworks after the games on both the 23rd and the 24th!
