Jo has twenty-four hours to save Hiram Hall, her father’s once famous country western saloon. She thinks she has booked a country music trio that is sure to save the day, but there’s been a little misunderstanding: can the classical Coghill Trio turn themselves into the country Cowgirl Trio in time to put on a rip-roaring show that will save Hiram Hall from foreclosure?

COWGIRLS, by Mary Murfitt and Betsy Howie, is being produced by Pioneer Theatre Company, a Professional Regional Theatre, in residence on the University of Utah campus. Directed by PTC Artistic Director Karen Azenberg.

COWGIRLS is performed with an AllFemale cast, performing all musical numbers on set with their own instruments.

LEENYA RIDEOUT plays Jo. Rideout is a Broadway actress who has starred in such Broadway hits as War Horse, Cyrano de Bergerac (with Kevin Kline), Company (2006 revival) and Cabaret (1998 revival original cast). This is her PTC debut.

PIONEER THEATRE COMPANY was established in 1962 and is one of only TWO fully professional theatre companies in the state of Utah. PTC is a producing theatre (not a touring theatre) and is well regarded as one of the best Regional Theatres in the country.
