Salt Lake City is Adding More Liquor Stores for NBA All-Star Weekend

Salt Lake City is preparing for NBA All-Star Weekend by adding more liquor stores. Right now, there are only two state liquor stores downtown. The state is installing a ‘pop up’ liquor store inside the Salt Palace Convention Center to help meet the expected high demand. The NBA All-Star Weekend, Feb. 16-18, will bring many visitors to Salt Lake City, including the best basketball players in the world.

The weekend includes several events, including the celebrity and rising stars’ games on Friday, February 17th. In addition, the skills challenge, 3-point contest, and slam dunk contest are on Saturday. And the all-star game will be on Sunday.

The NBA announced the starters for the all-star game this week. Unfortunately, no Jazzman made the starting lineup.

The yearly event was last held in Utah in 1993. John Stockton and Karl Malone were awarded co-MVPs for the game.
