Salt Lake City is preparing for NBA All-Star Weekend by adding more liquor stores. Right now, there are only two state liquor stores downtown. The state is installing a ‘pop up’ liquor store inside the Salt Palace Convention Center to help meet the expected high demand. The NBA All-Star Weekend, Feb. 16-18, will bring many visitors to Salt Lake City, including the best basketball players in the world.
There will be a pop-up liquor store downtown by the Salt Palace from Feb. 17-19 for All-Star Weekend.

The weekend includes several events, including the celebrity and rising stars’ games on Friday, February 17th. In addition, the skills challenge, 3-point contest, and slam dunk contest are on Saturday. And the all-star game will be on Sunday.
The NBA announced the starters for the all-star game this week. Unfortunately, no Jazzman made the starting lineup.
The yearly event was last held in Utah in 1993. John Stockton and Karl Malone were awarded co-MVPs for the game.
