This Day In Country Music History 12/11/17

Today is December 11 2017.  Happy Birthday to my daughter Meagan Chapman, yesterday December 10th.  Today is National APP day, also National Noodle Ring Day.  More info at National Day.  On this day in 2008, financier Bernard Madoff is arrested and Happy Birthday (Tootsie) actress Teri Garr born on this day in 1944.

It Happened on this day in Country Music History

1944  Brenda Lee is born at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. A Pop Artist as a teenager in the 1960s then shifts to country music in the 1970s. Well known this time of year for her 1958 hit “Rockin Around the Christmas Tree” (watch music video) She ends up in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1997.

1999 Brad Paisley gets his first #1 single on the  Billboard Charts from the album “Who Needs Pictures” with “He Didn’t Have To Be”(watch music video)

2009 Garth Brooks performs the first concert in a five-year deal with Wynn Las Vegas, kicking off the show with “Mama Tried.” Also in the set list: “Friends In Low Places,” “The Dance” and “If Tomorrow Never Comes”
