NATIONAL OPPOSITE DAY | NATIONAL FLORIDA DAY | NATIONAL IRISH COFFEE DAY (more information available at national day) it was on this day in 1915 that Alexander Graham Bell in New York and Thomas Watson in San Francisco make a record telephone transmission.

It Happened On This Day In Country Music History

1982 Kenny Rogers picks up three pop and country trophies at the American Music Awards. Country awards also go to Willie Nelson, Barbara Mandrell, Anne Murray and The Oak Ridge Boys

1988 Randy Travis wins four awards, paced by “Forever And Ever, Amen,” at the 15th annual American Music Awards.

2006  Brad Paisley’s “Time Well Wasted” is certified platinum.  The album includes “The World”Alcohol”Waitin On A Woman” “She’s Everything” and “When I Get Where I’m Going” 

2006 Carrie Underwood collects a gold single from the for “Jesus, Take The Wheel”

2010 Sea Gayle/Arista releases Jerrod Niemann’s “Lover, Lover” to country radio. In August it reached #1 on the country charts.
