1939 Happy Birthday William Lee Golden from the band The Oak Ridge Boys, born on this day in Brewton, Alabama.   His most famous vocals with The Oak Ridge Boys, “Thank God For Kids”

1952 Happy Birthday Ricky Van Shelton is born on this day in Grit, Virginia.  Best known for “Statue Of A Fool,” Ricky wins the CMA’s Male Vocalist of the Year in 1989.

1990 Keith Whitley hits #1 on the Billboard country chart with “It Ain’t Nothin”

1991 Garth Brooks occupies the #1 position on the Billboard country singles chart with “Unanswered Prayers”

1995 The Tim McGraw single “Not A Moment Too Soon” claims the #1 position on the Billboard country chart.

1996 Faith Hill is at #1 on the Billboard country singles chart with “It Matters To Me”

2006 “George Strait “She Let Herself Go” goes to #1 on the Billboard country chart.
